Our Story
Artialis started as a spin-off from the Bone and Cartilage Research Unit at the University of Liege in October 2010
Our primary mission? To commercialize assay kits for osteoarthritis biomarkers. It felt groundbreaking – a chance to revolutionize treatment options. While the concept was exciting, the world of clinical development was complex. We needed more than just biomarkers – we needed proof of their effectiveness.
In order to qualify the biomarkers, we started our own clinical studies in 2013.
Due to the high demand, our team set up a complete solution of clinical development for our clients. Biomarkers were included as innovative end points to study the efficacy of the tested product.
In 2015 we moved our preclinical operations to a state-of-the-art facility.
This allowed us to develop in-vitro and in-vivo models for evaluating compounds for osteoarthritis, osteoporosis, fractures, rheumatoid arthritis and age-related disorders.
Today, we are a fully developed CRDO with a focus on healthy aging research and development.
We’re constantly expanding our capabilities to help develop better treatments for healthy aging. For us, progress comes from solid science and a drive to keep pushing forward. Most importantly, we’re focused on research that makes a real difference in people’s lives as they age.
